Kimberly Hambrick, PhD, is a Principal Research Associate for Education Studies with 35 years of experience in education primarily in the areas of capacity-building programs, leadership development and coaching, program evaluation, and social science research. She serves as the Director of the Region 5 Comprehensive Center, which serves Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia and provides high-quality, capacity-building services to address pressing education needs and common challenges.
Hambrick has worked with the Comprehensive Center Program, funded by ED since its creation in 2001. She provided evaluation services before moving into leadership roles where she worked directly with states and local school districts to provide capacity- building services. She successfully competed for this grant at 3 different organizations and is the only person associated with this work, in this region, throughout its 22-year existence.
She has extensive knowledge of program management at the federal, state, and local levels. Hambrick is a certified coach and trainer with an emphasis on leadership and human development, strategic planning, and enhanced collaboration and communication.
Hambrick also possesses extensive expertise in change management for both individuals and organizations. She holds an Advanced Change Certification and is certified in Systems Change by Kotter International.
