Jeri Mulrow is Vice President and Sector Lead, Data Solutions, leading Westat’s units of Statistics and Data Science, Large Surveys, Research Operations, and Field Services staff, overseeing the collaboration of these teams’ shared processes to promote efficiency and facilitate innovative research solutions. From 2019 to 2023, she served as Director of Statistics and Data Science. Her areas of statistical expertise include sampling and estimation methodologies, survey methodology and design, data quality and process improvement, and data visualization and information dissemination.
Prior to coming to Westat in 2019, Mulrow served as the Principal Deputy Director for the Bureau of Justice Statistics in the U.S. Department of Justice, providing leadership and oversight on the design, collection, analysis, and dissemination of data on the U.S. justice system. Previously, she was the Deputy Division Director for the National Center for Science and Engineering Statistics at the National Science Foundation where she provided leadership and direction on the design, collection, analysis, and dissemination of data on the U.S. science and engineering enterprise.
Mulrow is an active member and Fellow of the American Statistical Association (ASA), serving on its Board and as the Association’s Vice President from 2014-16. She has served on several ASA committees, including Mentoring Award, Fellows, and Strategic Plan Review. She has been an invited speaker on topics ranging from justice statistics, use of federal data, and leadership.
In recognition of her contributions to the field, Mulrow has been named a Westat Senior Statistical Fellow and serves on the Statistical Fellows Committee, which provides consultation on important survey statistics issues and addresses recent advances in applied statistics.
