Emily L. Burkhardt is a Senior Research Associate in the Transportation and Safety Research Center with 20+ years of experience supporting research on transportation safety. Skilled in managing survey operations, Burkhardt specializes in using GIS and customized databases to establish, maintain, schedule, and map sampled sites; developing databases to track and report on project data; leading programming teams in support of efficient data collection and processing; overseeing the development of training materials; and managing the quality control of survey data.
Burkhardt has extensive experience directing studies for NHTSA. She is a certified child passenger safety technician and has contributed to numerous technical reports and presentations throughout her career.
