Diana Cassar-Uhl, PhD, is a Senior Research Associate for Public Health. She has nearly 2 decades of experience in public health as a clinician, educator, and researcher, with extensive expertise in maternal health and infant feeding. Her quantitative skills in nutrition and chronic disease epidemiology complement and support her passionate interest in programs that improve health of families and communities. She has supported projects for USDA’s Food and Nutrition Service and DoD, and supports projects for CMS and HRSA. She has authored publications on breastfeeding for both general and scientific audiences and is an accomplished presenter and speaker.
Cassar-Uhl has been an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant since 2009, and she completed a fellowship in communications at the HHS Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health. She served on active duty in the U.S. Army for 17 years as a musician in the West Point Band.
