Brian Sokol

Overview

Brian Sokol joined Westat in September 2024 as Vice President, Data Architecture and Data Engineering, where he oversees data strategy, management, and integration. He provides technical and organizational leadership in the company’s data ecosystem, leveraging a wide range of technology solutions and innovations to deliver high-quality data products. He oversees the design, implementation, and maintenance of data and cloud architecture to deliver business-driven solutions. He selects technology tools for data analytics, machine learning, and AI, while collaborating with staff to align solutions with business goals. Additionally, his role includes establishing data governance frameworks and serving as a subject matter expert on emerging technologies in data and AI.

Sokol has more than 20 years of experience in data management and technology delivery in public policy and in-depth knowledge of implementing information systems, data, and analytics in corporate, nonprofit, and government programs. He is a seasoned leader with experience managing large organizational teams, matrixed teams, consultants, and subcontractors; collaborating within and across organizations; and communicating effectively with executives, end users, and technologists.

Prior to joining Westat, Sokol was Vice President, Digital Delivery at Abt Global where he managed application development and data management and integration services for the company’s domestic and international client projects.
