Adam Yates, PhD, is a Principal Statistical Associate for Clinical Research with 12 years of experience in research operations, project management, and data science using tools such as SAS and R. As a biostatistician, he focuses on the role of bioinformatics, pharmacoinformatics, and global health informatics in influencing health outcomes. He is skilled in data analysis, policy analysis, capacity building, report and manuscript writing, and teaching.
He currently supports multiple initiatives, including serving as the Vision 2.0 Data QC Lead, supporting NIH NCCIH grant review, statistical design and analytic support for the Biostatistics and Data Management Core (BDMC) at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), and other work.
Prior to joining Westat, Yates contributed to the Henry M. Jackson Foundation’s Global Infectious Diseases Program, supporting a wide range of research initiatives, including synthetic data generation, multiomic and pharmacodynamics modeling, longitudinal and time-series clinical trial analysis, and applications of unsupervised ML in observational trials.
He also worked and lectured at the University of Newcastle, focusing on global aging and health, specifically relating to geospatial trends in chronic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes in developing nations. He has authored and contributed to numerous publications, including PLOS One, Reproductive Health, BMC Infectious Diseases, and BMC Public Health, and has presented his work at various conferences.
