Westat ESDG Maintains CMMI Maturity Level 3 Ensuring High Development Standards

At Westat, we are dedicated to continuous improvement and are proud to announce that our Enterprise Systems Development Group (ESDG) has been re-appraised at CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration) Maturity Level 3. CMMI is an integrated set of industry-standard best practices that enable businesses to improve the performance of their key business processes.

Westat’s ESDG has demonstrated continued commitment to improvement and closing the capability gap by achieving appraisals for ISACA’s CMMI for Development (DEV) at Level 2 in 2013, 2016, and subsequently at Level 3 in 2020.

In December 2022, ESDG was reappraised by our partner, Alluvionic, at level 3 of ISACA’s CMMI in the updated version 2.0. This new version is significantly more rigorous than previous versions and focuses more on performance, how performance impacts business, and how to understand an organization’s performance needs. This recent appraisal is a testament to ESDG’s dedication to achieving a high level of maturity in their process and performance improvement.

CMMI is designed to be understandable, accessible, flexible, and to integrate with other methodologies. By implementing CMMI, we have created a clear roadmap for building, improving, and sustaining our capability within the organization.
