Lissa Sirois is a Principal Research Associate and public health practitioner for Social Policy and Economics Research with over 25 years of experience in the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) workforce, training, technical assistance, and evaluation. Sirois is passionate about building competent and thriving WIC workforces, improving participant-centered services across food and nutrition programs, implementing equitable practices that serve low-income families, and evaluating program operations for improved health outcomes. She works on a number of projects, including WIC Health Outcomes and Participant Experience (WIC-HOPE), the Commodity Supplemental Food Program Participant Characteristics and Program Operations (CSFP-PCPO), and the Missouri Foundation for Health WIC Outreach Resource.
Her dedication to public health nutrition and breastfeeding is demonstrated by her early work as a Local Agency WIC Director for a nonprofit and her 17-year career with the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services culminating as Bureau Chief overseeing more than 15 state and federally funded family health and nutrition programs, including the WIC program, CSFP, Farmers Market Nutrition, and multiple maternal and child health programs. She is a Registered Dietitian and International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant.
