Allison Hyra, PhD, is an Associate Vice President for Social Policy and Economics Research. She is a researcher, evaluator, and technical assistance provider, and focuses on multisystemic approaches to improving the well-being of American children, families, and adults. Her work spans child welfare, domestic violence, parent support, noncustodial parents, workforce systems, education, community colleges, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
Hyra leads the evaluation of the Administration for Children and Families’ Diaper Distribution Demonstration and Research Pilot initiative. She also serves as the quality advisor on the Office of Planning, Research, and Evaluation’s innovative REFRAME project, which is developing evidence-based recommendations for Healthy Marriage and Responsible Fatherhood programs that serve Black participants. Hyra also directs a DOL project that supports their Chief Evaluation Office as it helps program offices develop and execute their learning agendas.
