Tom Munk, Ph.D., Westat Principal Research Associate, will conduct a virtual workshop, Equity, Inclusion, and Opportunity: Addressing Success Gaps in Our Schools and Districts, at the virtual 2021 National Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) Conference, to be held February 8-11, 2021. Dr. Munk’s workshop will take place at 2:45 p.m. (EST) on Monday, February 8, 2021.
This workshop is based on the IDEA Data Center’s (IDC) Success Gaps Toolkit. IDC is a comprehensive technical assistance center focusing on data requirements of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Dr. Munk will
- Prepare participants to identify and address success gaps in their schools and districts
- Present a real-world example of collaboration between special education and general education staff in Wichita, Kansas, to reduce the oversuspension of Black students
