The National Institutes of Health’s (NIH’s) Community Engagement Alliance (CEAL) Against COVID-19 Disparities was launched 2 years ago in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The nationwide CEAL Alliance now consists of 21 teams made up of community-engaged researchers and almost 700 community partners working to build trust in science and mitigate the impact of the pandemic on communities and that have been disproportionately impacted by the pandemic.
To help raise awareness about the vital role that community-engaged research in building a healthier future, Westat is sponsoring a Spotlight Session on August 17, Community-Engaged Research: Partnering for Healthier Future. This panel, moderated by TaWanna Berry, a Westat Associate Director, will discuss what lead to the creation of the Alliance, the creative communication strategies that CEAL Teams and their partners are using to engage their communities, and what comes next for this community-engaged research initiative.
